YUENGLING GIVES BACK
As America’s Oldest Brewery, we are grateful for the continued support from our loyal fans, partners, employees, and communities for nearly 200 years. As a 6th Generation family owned and operated business, we are strong believers of bringing people together to make a positive impact on our communities. At Yuengling, we are committed to doing what’s right and making a positive impact. We look to identify ways to give back, especially in times of need. Here’s what we’re doing in our communities:
ABOUT LAGERS FOR HEROES
America’s Oldest Brewery is proud to be fiercely independent for nearly 190 years. At D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., we are thankful and proud of the brave and dedicated men and women who have made tremendous sacrifices to protect our country’s freedom, honor, and independence. The military and first responders have always been a community with which Yuengling has a connection and has supported on national and local levels for many years. Our heroes’ programs have allowed America’s Oldest Brewery to enhance that connection and make a positive impact on the service community from the time of service through separation. Entering its fifth year, our Lagers for Heroes program seeks ways to support and show appreciation to servicemen and women, veterans, first responders, and their families.
YUENGLING’S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
Yuengling’s scholarship program started in 2017 with a partnership with the University of South Florida St. Petersburg (USFSP) Brewing Arts Program to provide a tuition scholarship, now known as the Yuengling Veteran Award, to aspiring brewers. The Yuengling Veteran Award grants a student, who previously served in the military, the opportunity to learn foundational brewing knowledge via online courses and then complete hands-on training with a local brewery. In 2019, Yuengling and Pink Boots Society launched the Yuengling Women in Brewing Scholarship Program as part of Yuengling’s multi-year commitment to the Pink Boots Society. The scholarships can be used to enroll in brewing courses at up to seven universities across the country.
YUENGLING TO SUPPORT FIRST RESPONDERS & LOCAL COMMUNITY
As America’s Oldest Brewery, we’ve seen our fair share of ups and downs and uncertain times since 1829. From the Great Depression to Prohibition and World Wars, our brewery and this country have faced a great deal. And if we’ve learned anything from the generations that came before us, it’s that we have a responsibility to help those who have lifted us up for all these years.
AMERICAN EAGLE FOUNDATION
We have partnered with the American Eagle Foundation (AEF) to care for and protect the U.S. National Symbol, the Bald Eagle. Through the partnership, AEF has advanced its mission of education, conservation, and rehabilitation for the Bald Eagle. To encourage further education and interest in eagle preservation, we invite fans around the world to tune into AEF’s high-definition, live-streaming Northeast Florida (NEFL) Bald Eagle Nest Cam to witness the incredible Bald Eagle nesting process.
