Table to Table is a community-based food rescue program that collects prepared and perishable food that would otherwise be wasted and delivers it to organizations serving the hungry in the Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties of New Jersey.
Fighting Hunger While Reducing Food Waste
The key to our operation is efficiency and effectiveness, enabling us to feed the greatest number of people with the freshest, most nutritious food. We “rescue” food from approximately 200 donors (supermarkets, food distributors, restaurants and commercial kitchens) and deliver it the same day free of charge to more than 250 community organizations, including food pantries, food banks, shelters, day care/after school programs, senior centers serving people who are food insecure throughout Bergen County, Essex County, Hudson County and Passaic County.
Since its inception in 1999, Table to Table has rescued and delivered the equivalent of 295 million meals and saved nearly 96,000 tons of potentially wasted food from landfills. And, in 2021 alone, 191,945,000 pounds of food providing more than 38 million meals was rescued.
