Remy Wines is a Willamette Valley winery founded in 2006 by lesbian winemaker and true Oregonian, Remy Drabkin. Born and raised in McMinnville, Remy came up in the cellars of Willamette Valley greats and by the age of eight, she knew she wanted to become a winemaker herself. Remy Wines produces northern Italian varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest, Willamette Valley legacy grapes and emerging varieties in her hometown of McMinnville, Oregon. Consistent throughout is Drabkin’s unmistakable flair for innovation and her healthy disregard for convention.
In addition to being one of the few prominent queer winemakers in Oregon, Drabkin has dedicated over 16 years to public service. Remy is a duly elected McMinnville City Council member and City Council President, she is also the Chair of the Affordable Housing Commission and Liaison to the newly-formed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Taskforce. In 2020, Remy Co-Founded Wine Country Pride, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, bringing LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations to rural Oregon. In 2022, Remy Wines will host the world’s first Queer Wine Fest as part of this year’s Wine Country Pride festivities. Remy Wines, like its visionary founder, honors Old-World winemaking traditions with undeniable flair and a fresh, progressive voice.
