Making A Name In The Sandwich Business As your neighborhood sandwich shop, Port of Sub has been bringing people together since 1972. Our story began over 45 years ago, when two brothers from New Jersey opened a modest submarine shop in Sparks, Nevada called the “Sub Shop”. John Larsen and his family seized the opportunity to purchase an interest in the business and later bought the company in 1975. After taking the helm, we sponsored a community-wide contest to choose a name for the Sub Shop to differentiate it from imitators. In a review of more than 10,000 contest entries, the name “Port of Subs” was born. COMMUNITY Eat Good, Do Good Request to host a fundraiser event at your neighborhood sandwich shop! At Port of Subs®, we are committed to the communities we serve, and appreciate the opportunity to give back to our friends, neighbors and community. We have developed an easy way to help raise funds for your organization. How it Works: Submit your request using the link at the bottom of this page. A representative will contact you to confirm all the details, and will then supply you with a fundraising kit. In the Port of Subs® fundraising kit, you will receive a flyer with your logo and dates, a digital image to share on social media, a link to your very own fundraiser page on the Port of Subs® website, and an instructional guide. Once you receive your kit, it’s time to promote your fundraiser! Drive your supporters, friends and family to your personalized fundraiser page. Port of Subs® will donate a percentage of food and beverage sales generated by the your supporters, families and friends to help your organization! Who’s Eligible? Any school related organization with a Tax I.D. number and recognized by the government as a non-profit organization (or authorized subgroup) can take part in a Port of Subs® fundraising event such as: Public Schools Parent Teacher Organizations Sports Teams Cheerleading Squads Campus Clubs School Bands School Camps Student Councils Girl/Boy Scouts Booster Clubs
