A little spice
Make life flavorful
When the pandemic hit in the spring of 2020, I had a lot more time at home to tend to my garden and ended up with a bumper crop of hot peppers. Not wanting them to go to waste, I started to experiment with different hot sauce recipes. After much trial and error and many taste tests with friends and neighbors, I perfected a few key sauces and flavors. That fall I made several batches of sauce and offered them on Facebook, promising that all profits would go to a local Arlington charity. Reviews were strong and word spread, and the next year (2021) I sold several hundred bottles of Helpful Hot Sauce with profits going to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis (I grew up a Hoosier). This fall I hope to sell even more and help the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), and Riley Children’s Hospital.
