Neighborhood Shares: Every Day, Every Store. Being a neighborhood grocery store is about more than just selling groceries. It’s also about being a good neighbor, in every Trader Joe’s neighborhood. Through our Neighborhood Shares Program, we are able to provide nourishment to our neighbors, every day, in every store. Each of our stores across the country donates 100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to be enjoyed to local food recovery organizations, seven days a week. In 2021 we donated more than $349 million dollars worth of quality products to our valued non-profit partners across the country. Through the Neighborhood Shares Program, we are proud to continuously provide nutritious foods to our communities, serving nearly 63 million meals to a wide range of community recipients in our neighborhoods. 63 Million Meals Served in 2021 Through Neighborhood Shares Our work supporting hunger-relief organizations is ongoing and ever-evolving. As we open stores in new neighborhoods, we are constantly searching out new partners in this effort; our existing stores continually reevaluate their agency relationships in an effort to ensure we are working with a variety of community-based non-profit partners that share our goals of nourishing our neighbors in meaningful and intentional ways. In 2021, we welcomed 180 new partners to our Neighborhood Shares Program, bringing the total number of partners benefitting from Trader Joe’s Neighborhood Shares donations to 1,022.
